After an accident, theft, fire, wildlife damage or other damage, you are obliged to call the police if a third party is involved in the event as an injured party or possible (co-)cause or if someone else's property - apart from the rental car - was damaged. In the case of damage events involving third parties, you may only acknowledge liability after prior consent from ÖBB Rail&Drive. You are obliged to report the incident immediately by telephone directly to Rail&Drive on +43517789733233 and then provide careful information about all the details in writing. If the damage occurs domestically without you being injured, written notification must be provided within two days, and abroad within four days. In the event of an accident that is partly or entirely your fault, ÖBB Rail&Drive is entitled to charge you a flat rate amounting to the costs incurred for the effort involved in handling the damage.
